{"id":2780,"date":"2022-12-05T14:01:33","date_gmt":"2022-12-05T14:01:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/santinagusminionlus.emmetoffetti.it\/wp\/cosa-stiamo-facendo\/"},"modified":"2023-02-10T09:48:26","modified_gmt":"2023-02-10T09:48:26","slug":"what-are-we-doing","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.santinagusminiassociation.it\/en\/what-are-we-doing\/","title":{"rendered":"What are we doing"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After having set up two schools in Zambia in 2020, we are working on a much more ambitious project called\u00a0 &#8220;Gli Asili di Santina Gusmini&#8221;.<br \/>\nWe believe that bringing children to school as early as possible, allowing them to play and be together in a protected and safe place, with at least basically qualified teachers, can be important for the growth of a people.<br \/>\nNelson Mandela said: &#8220;Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world&#8221;.<br \/>\nAnd\u00a0we try to make our contribution in places where governments have limited resources.<br \/>\nOur Project involves the realisation of an annual training course for volunteer kindergarten teachers, 9 boys and girls who have already completed primary and secondary school, live in disadvantaged villages and are interested in remaining in the same village to teach in the kindergarten we are going to build there.<br \/>\nWe identified, with the support of the local Ministry of Education, the Chipangali district in north-east Zambia.<br \/>\nWe cast the nine selected villages, chose the teacher trainers and in 2022 completed the first year of the course with graduation. In December 2022, the second course started with<br \/>\nnine more candidates.<br \/>\nAt the same time, we are completing the construction of the second kindergarten and will start the third in spring 2023.<br \/>\nIt is a Project that can significantly change the lives of children in that area and is only financed by the donations of our private supporters without any support from institutions.<br \/>\nThat is why we need the help of all those who believe that investing in education and culture is important.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] After having set up two schools in Zambia in 2020, we are working on a much more ambitious project called\u00a0 &#8220;Gli Asili di Santina Gusmini&#8221;.
