The Ambassador’s answer

Four months have passed since our journey to Gaborone, without any reply. After two reminders sent to Ms. Poledi Matsetse of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, without success, we decided to write to all the Heads of Departments met, besides to H.E. the Ambassador.

First visit to Botswana

H.E. Mr. Outlule, as promised, has organized a series of meetings with different departments of the Ministry of Education and with the Ministry of Land. Our President Mr. Maurizio Testa and the member Mr. Giuseppe Giorgi, traveled to Gaborone the 21st of April 2013

Second journey to Bruxelles

It seemed everything was fine, we had already booked the airline tickets to Gaborone, but our only request, having a plan for official meetings before departure, it never materialized.

The Association receives the official approvals

It has been a long path, but finally we did it! Thanks largely to the tenacity of our member, dr. Paolo Rossi, today, the Italian Authorities have registered, with effects from the time of the demand, September 4, 2012, Santina Gusmini Onlus Association in the official Register of No Profit Associations.

The association grows up

Verified, at least formally, the interest of Botswana for the project and its feasibility, these months are dedicated to the growth of the Association, to meet with new members useful to the project, to achieve the formal approvals required, to the drawing up of the educational program.

First meeting with Botswana officials

Following some phone contacts with the consulate of Botswana in Italy, which is based in Crocetta del Montello (TV), we are introduced and subsequently invited to Brussels, headquarters of the Embassy also responsible for our country , for talks with H.E. the Ambassador, Mr. Samuel Outlule and the First Secretary Mrs Gao Tscheko.

Association is founded

Santina Gusmini Onlus, a non-profit association, is founded. It has been created in memory of Santina Gusmini, passed away few months before. A person who loved children and loved Africa.
